GROUNDHOG NIGHT

CLIENT: BUS STOP FILMS

DIRECTOR: GENEVIEVE CLAY-SMITH

POST PRODUCTION SOUND: GEORGIA COLLINS

For carer Gary, moving on and keeping his family together isn't always easy. Tensions run high when his late wife's parents arrive unannounced after he brings home a date.

‘Groundhog Night’ was produced by Bus Stop Films is a not for profit a film school for adults living with a disability that uses filmmaking and the film industry to raise the profile of people from marginalised communities, primarily people living with disability on both sides of the camera.

‘Groundhog Night’ was inclusively made with the support of Screen NSW as part of their Screenability strategy and premiered at Sydney Film Festival in 2020. It is also available on ABC iview.

I loved working with Georgia at Sound-how, she was so respectful of my process and my endless requests for changes. She supported the vision of the project with passion and a positive attitude. Nothing was ever too hard for her and she went above and beyond to get the result we needed. The proof is in the pudding - the sound design of Groundhog Night is awesome, and there were a few tricky edits in there that’s for sure. When it comes to group scenes and ensemble performances, overlapping dialogue can always be an issue. She navigated this like a total champ. Thanks again Georgia for all your hard work, and I look forward to working with you in the future!
