Masterclasses, Workshops and Training

Sound-how prides itself on providing world-class sound and music expertise as well as being a social enterprise, through our outreach to underrepresented minorities. We share our knowledge and expertise through our diverse and inclusive perspectives. Sound-how’s outreach for the wider community also includes running masterclasses, workshops and training from diverse and inclusive perspectives by featuring expert diverse and minority voices.

Our main target markets for these online masterclasses include composers, filmmakers, online content creators, sound and audio mixers and engineers, editors and podcasters, especially aspiring and emerging diverse and minority individuals.

In October 2020 we launched our online masterclass series presenting our first session titled "Getting to Know You: Navigating the Composer & Filmmaker Relationship". The session was attended by composers, directors, producers, writers and other creative professionals seeking to learn more about incorporating original music in their projects and the process involved.

Our expansion plan includes running a part two and three to our current masterclass series, "Getting to Know You: Navigating the Composer & Filmmaker Relationship” through live online and pre recorded video delivery.  The online delivery of our masterclasses also allows for greater accessibility, such as for individuals living with disabilities and also due to the uncertainty of the COVID 19 situation.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your insight with the delivery of your Zoom master class: “Getting to Know You: Navigating the Composer & Filmmaker Relationship”. As a musician who has predominately worked independently, until only recently being involved in film projects, I found your class really helpful in terms of illustrating the ideal synergy between Director and Composer. Thanks once again, I look forward to part two.
