Justice for Mums is an Australian-based documentary podcast, which retells the stories of mothers who have falsely accused of fabricating their children’s illnesses. As a result some of these mothers have had their children taken away from them. When co-producer and director Suzanne Wrath approached us for original music and sound design, mixing and editing, Anisha and Weronika took up the project. The brief required us to provide an emotive score that would help communicate the anguish these mothers have felt trying find answers to their children’s illnesses, but instead being accused of lying. The sound design, mixing and editing was crucial in the respecting the sensitivity of the project’s matter, by disguising voices of the mothers who didn’t want their identity revealed, as well as bringing the piece together as a whole.

I can highly recommend the services of Sound-how. Anisha has worked as composer on both a short film I wrote and produced, Jimbra, as well as a podcast completed as part of my MAsters in journalism, ‘justice for mums’. She put me onto Weronika for sound design and I was thrilled to work with their team. Both are professionals who communicate clearly and promptly, understood the brief perfectly and produced a high quality of work.
