REBECCA KIRWAN

award-winning filmmaker, cinematographer and teacher

Rebecca Kirwan, an award-winning filmmaker, cinematographer and teacher who approached us wanting to learn more about how to use music in her films to elevate its stories and impact.

Rebecca wanted to further her knowledge and understanding on how she could extend her filmmaking creativity through the use of music, and effectively communicate this to composers she works with.

For more on Rebecca Kirwan’s work, visit her website.

The session covered:

  • Providing guidance and problem solving assistance regarding music direction on a film project she was working on at the time.

  • Providing key tools to navigate music in the post production process such as understanding and identifying tone, what to cover in briefings and criterias for music and establishing work flow systems she could implement for future projects.

Thank you so much for our session and wonderful summary notes. I appreciate the thoughtful guidance and understanding of my film and music needs. You have been an incredible help! I feel more confident in using and placing music in my films, as well as directing and communicating effectively to composers I work with in the future.
